THE LITTLE THINGS
I have never been especially impressed by the heroics of people convinced that they are about to change the world. I am more awed by those who struggle to make one small difference after another. ~Ellen Goodman~
It's not some moment of extraordinary heroism or achievement that comprises the true character and substance of one's life. Those that are most often remembered, and have the greatest impact on our world, are they that strive day after day, to make just some small difference in the lives of those around them. Never forget, that one small gesture of love, kindness, compassion, understanding or support, can change a life forever. And, all of those small acts create a ripple effect, that carries on to others, on and on, far beyond that which we ourselves may recognize or perceive in the moment. The ability to change the world therefore, rests in the hands of those who are willing to silently and without fanfare, leave each person that they meet, in some small way better off from the encounter.
If you are wise and understand God's ways, live a life of steady goodness so that only good deeds will pour forth. And if you don't brag about the good you do, then you will be truly wise! ~James 3:13 (NLT)~ Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. ~Galatians 6:9 (NIV)~ And He sat down opposite the treasury and saw how the crowd was casting money into the treasury. Many rich [people] were throwing in large sums. And a widow who was poverty-stricken came and put in two copper mites [the smallest of coins], which together make half of a cent. And He called His disciples [to Him] and said to them, Truly and surely, I tell you, this widow, [she who is] poverty-stricken, has put in more than all those contributing to the treasury. ~Mark 12:41-43 (Amp)~ "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much..." ~Jesus / Luke 16:10 (NIV)~
