Life Lessons

The difference between school and life? In school, you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you're given a test that teaches you a lesson.

~Tom Bodett~

It's a fact that most spiritual and meaningful life lessons to be learned, are generally diametrically opposed to our "natural" tendencies, and ways of doing or seeing things. You must give in order to difficulty, our real opportunities for growth may be found...we must die (to self), in order to truly live (by the Spirit) our weaknesses, true strength can be found. Be open to understanding and applying these principles, and experience the complete transformation of heart and mind that occurs as a result. You will never be the same again. And, there WILL be a test!

Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].

~Romans 12:2 (Amp)~

Strip yourselves of your former nature [put off and discard your old unrenewed self] which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion; And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude], And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God's image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness.

~Ephesians 4:22-24 (Amp)~

Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing. If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.

~James 1:2-5 (Amp)~
