Creditworthy You can accomplish much if you don't care who gets the credit. ~Ronald Reagan~
It's a natural instinct to desire recognition for for one's accomplishments. Yet, there is always an inherent danger associated with great achievement or charitable acts. One must be ever vigilant not to allow a prideful spirit to overtake them, or to glory in their own sense of self-worth. Always remember from Whom your gifts and talents come. True reward comes when we remain humble, and are willing to do with no one watching, that which we would do when all eyes are upon us!
Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, Knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [and not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [real] reward... ~Colossians 3:23,24 (Amp)~ Take care! Don't do your good deeds publicly, to be admired, because then you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. When you give a gift to someone in need, don't shout about it as the hypocrites do--blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I assure you, they have received all the reward they will ever get. But when you give to someone, don't tell your left hand what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in secret, and your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you. ~Jesus / Matthew 6:1-4 (NLT)~ For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. ~Ephesians 2:8-10 (NASB)~
