Being At Peace
If there is to be any peace it will come through being, not having.
So many believe that once they have achieved financial or business success, or gotten the material things or acknowledgment that they desire, then they will be at peace. A simple look at the myriad of examples of those that have, and yet still lead troubled and tormented lives, should be a good indicator of how misdirected this driving force is. For those that hang there hopes on such things, there will always be something missing, something else that must be obtained or achieved, before they can be at rest. True peace, joy and contentment must come from within, and is completely independent of circumstances and possessions. It comes from that deep and abiding sense of knowing from whence you come, the Spirit that is alive within you, and your eternal destination. This is what allows you to focus on simply "being" the light which you were created and called to be, and not on having and accumulating more "things".
May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.
~Romans 15:13 (Amp)~
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
~Philippians 4:4-7 (NASB)~
Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
~Colossians 3:14-15 (NLT)~
